You’ll now find me on my new site at: http://www.writing-information-and-tips.com/writing-information-blog.html

Hope to see you soon

You Know December Has Arrived When …

Here is my fun list of signs that we have crossed the threshold from November into December. Feel free to let me know any that I have forgotten.

  • At least a dozen Christmas cards have already arrived in the mail.
  • Somebody has said, ‘I can’t believe it’s nearly Christmas already, it only seems like last month …’
  • The shopping centre Christmas decorations are already attracting cobwebs.
  • In every batch of TV adds there seems to be one for a barbeque or a bank loan.

 Writing Exercise

Write down the sentence below than just keep writing.

‘As the gentle drone of the Postman’s motorbike drifted further down the street I raced out to check what he had left.

Talk in Mandurah

Anybody fancy a drive to Mandurah today? It’s lovely weather for a day by the ocean - and perhaps calling into the the local library to hear a talk from, oh I don’t know, maybe, me.

Yes today I’m giving a talk on ’Stolen Moments’ and signing books. Thankfully Pamela is coming with me too, a good thing considering I am only just getting my voice back.

Anyway, 2pm at Mandurah Library if you feel like dropping in, buying a book would be really nice too.

AGGH! How Do You Stop Dogs Digging?

You know I thought I had managed it. I planted my 50 vegie and herb seedlings, put up a 3ft plastic fence around them, smeared the whole thing with Vics (or some substitute) and the dog didn’t dig in the area for all of ONE night.

Here’s out there now sniffing around the whole thing. ‘Out there’ being the operative part of the sentence. He’s in trouble. Last night he found a way into the fenced area, trampled some plants, dug up some more and even ate the Chinese Greens. So what do other people do to keep their dogs out of the garden? The vegie patch is already on a 2ft high raised part of the garden.

The crazy thing is that he’s a smart dog. Learned not to come in the kitchen and front room in 30 mins.

Off to plant my plants again now, and glare.

Happy Mothers’ Day.

I’m pretty sure that it’s only Australia that celebrates the day today, but I think mothers everywhere deserve the recognition.

Have a great day and may you be as spoilt as I am.

Yes, I’m finally here. Took a while I know, but you wouldn’t believe the Easter traffic.

Just a quick introduction for those who don’t know me, I’m a writer and a writing coach. Yes, I’m one of those lucky people who is able to make money doing what they love. Which for me is to wake up every morning and write whatever I want to write, of course by the afternoon I’m writing what I have to write, but at least I have the mornings …

As anybody who has been to either of my sites www.writingtoinspire.com or www.lifesinspirationalmoments.com will know, I enjoy helping other writers, especially beginners, with their writing. So if you have any writing questions you’d like answered please feel free to send them in as a comment and I’ll do my best to answer them.

Well that’s it for the moment, I’m off to see if the Easter Bilby has brought me any chocolate yet.

Have fun
